The history of Ferrara begins in 1977. That was the year Mr. Chris Ferrara, President and CEO of Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc., a pipefitter/fabricator for one of the nation's largest petrochemical refineries located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and a volunteer firefighter at Central Volunteer Fire Department, built his first fire truck.

Emergency Vehicles, Inc (EVI) has been specializing in the custom design and manufacturing of quality rescue and specialty vehicles to meet the individual needs of its customers since 1971. In September 1999 EVI opened its new 50,000 square foot facility in Lake Park, Florida. This modern facility contains everything needed (all under one roof) to fabricate any type of emergency vehicle.
